My client is a Mechanical and Electrical Services Contractor and is actively seeking to recruit an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor.
The Managing Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the quantity surveying.
This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, capable of managing a team and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate would be able to support in providing full commercial awareness to ensure the project management and operational delivery team are aware of all commercial and contractual matters involved in the project, whilst also providing support to the Commercial Manager / Commercial Director as appropriate and required
What would my day look like?
This role provides the opportunity to be part of something that will last for generations. You will be part of a team that helps design and consult on multiple projects across our business.
From residential care villages, to hotels and ground breaking innovative client projects, you will be involved throughout the process.
This will often include the following activities.
- Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors on allocated projects, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Understand the cost estimates, budgets for projects alongside our design, pre-construction, estimating team during the above phase, ensuring commercial coverage.
- Review and negotiation of the Contract with our Client, with support from the senior management team.
- Be part of the procurement process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation and Contract placement of the Sub-Contract Agreements with our specialist Sub-Contractors.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
- Review and negotiate final accounts, ensuring all financial aspects of the projects are accurately documented.
- Review and understanding of programme, and ensure correct contractual notices are issued and as required by the Contract
