ARM has partnered with a large Defence client who looking for an experienced Lead EMC Engineer to be based out of their site in Barrow-in-Furness. As the Lead EMC Engineer you'll have extensive knowledge regarding Electromagnetic design and testing as you'll be leading a team of engineers.
Responsibilities:
* Specify and manage requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platforms or programmes.
* Providing support to the Engineering Manager and/or external specialists in providing transversal support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements
* Undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub systems and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for EMC design.
* Ensuring completed products qualification testing is completed.
* Advising design teams on EMC requirements and design considerations
* Liaising with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards.
* Designing and implementing system mitigation to meet EMC standards.
* Mentoring and coaching Engineers within the team
Experience required:
* Hold a BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent qualification.
* Ideally be professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this.
* Experience of design for EMC compliance
* Knowledge of EMC Defence Standards would be an advantage. (Def Stan 59-411 pt 3)
* Proven experience and ability to coach, train, and mentor others in a team.
* Be eligible to obtain UK security clearance at SC level.
