Salary: £43,736 - £52,242 per annum
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Contract Manager to join our dynamic Assets & Estates Category team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and managing our sourcing strategy and contracting process, ensuring alignment with our operational needs and compliance with public procurement regulations.
You will be responsible for delivering compliant sourcing plans, managing supplier performance, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of market analysis and multi-year category plans, support continuous improvement initiatives, and promote the use of procurement data analytics and management information.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Contract Management: Monitor and manage major contracts, ensuring compliance and value for money. Support stakeholders with business cases, market research, and procurement strategies.
Tenders and Category Management: Lead the procurement strategy for assigned categories, conduct market analysis, and manage end-to-end procurement activities.
Financial Management: Assist in budget setting and monitoring, ensuring financial data is maintained accurately.
Reporting: Draft comprehensive reports on procurement and contract management activities.
Responsible Procurement: Implement responsible procurement practices, including environmental and social objectives.
Continuous Improvement: Lead and support improvement initiatives within the procurement department.
Staff Management: Manage and develop junior staff, fostering a cohesive and effective team environment.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in procurement, category, and contract management within the Assets & Estates Services category.
Strong understanding of public sector procurement procedures and regulations.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of contract management, public sector procurement, and responsible procurement practices.
Awareness of health and safety, GDPR, Data Protection Act, and Freedom of Information Act.
Qualifications: A degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
CIPS certification or membership is also desirable.
