Finance Officer in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Finance Officer - Cambridge - 3 Month contract - £22 per hour

ARM are delighted to be supporting a Public Sector organisation with the Recruitment of a Finance Officer on an initial 3 month contract.

Reporting to the Finance & Contracts Manager, the Finance Officer is responsible for the monitoring of budgets and financial controls ensuring financial performance is in line with budget.

Responsibilities:

* Establish and agree processes for managing the budgets for the IT Service across the council.
* To develop and implement strategies to further improve the clarity of budget management.
* Clearly communicate outcomes of budget analysis to ITDS Management and Programme/Project Managers.
* Contribute to the robust analysis of project budgets and departmental cross charging by providing robust financial analysis.
* Prepare reports and manage data analysis for Senior Management Team on a regular basis.
* Manage the preparation and internal reporting of budgets to monitor and improve performance of the ITDS Service.
* Manage the distribution, recording, filing and archiving of fully executed contracts and amendments for both Councils.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree, HNC, HND NVQ level 4 in a related business, finance or accounting field (AAT, CIMA).
* Sound working knowledge of accountancy systems and use of spreadsheets to present financial reports.
* An understanding of local government procurement rule and legislation.
* Experience of working with finance systems and keeping accurate financial records.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Ability to persuade, influence or aid others in decision making.
