Senior Test Engineer in Bedford, Bedfordshire

My client is recruiting for a Senior Test Engineer to work on a permanent basis for a Defence project.

Due to the nature of the work, this role does require current SC clearance or the ability to obtain this.
You must have a British passport, and spent the last 5 years in the UK.

This role will be working on vehicle-based military tests alongside key suppliers.
This role will validate, test and support military vehicles for UK MoD and OE manufacturers.

The role will provide technical support to technicians and stakeholders with involvement in the whole process including; price compilation, work planning, procedure/legislation research, issue of test instructions and data collection requirements, presentation of results and reporting across a wide range of projects, from smaller-scale, short-term projects to multi-year, high-value programmes.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Working within the wider team to co-ordinate and supervise test activity, creating and updating project timing plans to ensure deadlines are met.
• Liaising with the customer, test authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure test plans meet the need of the customer.
• Liaising with off-site test facilities to plan and organise time and resources to fulfil the requirements of each test program to maintain and develop test schedules.
• Complete the reporting of all test results within a set timeframe.
• Prepare risk assessments and adhere to health and safety.
• Conduct analysis and validate data and lead investigations into sources of errors, resolve technical issues.
• Develop test capabilities within the military vehicle subject area.

Essential Experience

• Must have a background in vehicle testing
• Working knowledge of sensor types and applications
• Working knowledge of electronics and circuitry
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline

Full UK Drivers licence - additional categories would be desirable.
